Retraktable
Retraktable is a collection of practical systems, resources, and field notes shaped by years of working on conferences, sales kickoffs, partner events, customer programs, and corporate marketing projects.
Most event teams don't struggle because they lack ideas. They struggle because there are hundreds of moving pieces, tight deadlines, shifting priorities, and countless details that need to come together at the right time. The work that makes an event successful often happens behind the scenes long before attendees arrive.
Retraktable exists to make that work easier.
The site brings together the workflows, templates, checklists, and lessons I've developed throughout my career supporting event and marketing teams. Some are complete systems designed to save time and create consistency. Others are simple resources or observations gathered from real-world experience.
Everything here is built around a simple idea: practical tools and proven processes can help teams work more efficiently, make better decisions, and create stronger event experiences.
Retraktable is for

What you will find here
Systems: Complete workflows, templates, and kits designed to solve common event and marketing challenges. These are the repeatable processes that help teams stay organized, move faster, and reduce friction throughout a project.
Resources: Free downloads, checklists, worksheets, and reference materials created to support planning, production, and execution.
Field Notes: Lessons, observations, and stories gathered from years of site visits, production meetings, event floors, and creative projects. These are often the small details that never appear on a project plan but have a significant impact on the attendee experience.
Why I created Retraktable
Throughout my career, I've spent a lot of time working behind the scenes on conferences, sales kickoffs, customer events, partner programs, and marketing initiatives. Over the years, I noticed that some of the most valuable things I used every day weren't the final designs that attendees saw. They were the checklists, workflows, templates, naming conventions, and processes that helped projects stay organized and move forward.
Many of these tools were created out of necessity. A sponsor asset request that needed a better system. A site visit that revealed a problem no floorplan could show. A presentation workflow that saved hours of production time. Small solutions developed to solve real problems that kept appearing from project to project.
As the years passed, I accumulated folders full of documents, worksheets, templates, and notes. Some were polished. Others were simple reminders to myself. Together, they represented lessons learned across hundreds of projects and thousands of small decisions.
Retraktable was created as a place to organize and share those resources.
Some of what you'll find here are complete systems designed to help teams work more efficiently. Others are free resources that can be downloaded and put to use immediately. And some are simply observations and stories from years spent designing and supporting live events.
My hope is that these materials save you time, help you avoid common mistakes, and provide practical ideas you can apply to your own projects. If a checklist helps you catch something you would have otherwise missed, or a workflow saves a few hours during a busy week, then Retraktable has done its job.
Behind Retraktable
I'm Scott Whipple, a designer with nearly 30 years of experience creating brands, marketing materials, presentations, and event experiences.
Throughout my career, I've worked with startups, technology companies, and global organizations, helping teams bring conferences, sales meetings, partner events, and customer experiences to life. Along the way, I've learned that successful events are built on more than good design. They're built on preparation, process, communication, and attention to detail.
Retraktable is where I share the practical side of that work.
